I'm well and truly back into the swing of things, running-wise. Ran approx 28 miles last week and slowly going to build it up to about 35-40 per week. As I've missed too much of the winter endurance, I'm not going to be able to play catch up now so I've decided to concentrate on speed fo the track season.
Managed a speed session on Wednesday on my own, 5 mins of gentle running to warm up and then 30 minutes worth of 1 minute hard/1 minute easy around Plock Court, with 5 mins warm-down after. This is the type of session that gets me fit in previous years so I'm going back to what I know.
Popped down the track the next night and hit 8 x 200m with a 200m walk recovery, trying to run quickly but not flat out. Averaged 28.1s which is good enough at the moment. Hoping to return to this session in a months time and see the difference. Ran the session in Brooks Green Silence, my new racing flats which were surprisingly good. Quite a soft shoe but got me up on my toes well.
