An athlete may be used to wearing tracksuits and trainers in their own time but on a formal occasion they may have to dress a lot smarter. A formal event may require someone to wear a suit, and initial cufflinks may help someone achieve a smarter look. This could be important if someone is going to receive an award because they may have their picture taken. It's not only presentations that people have to dress up for and most people have formal clothing for special events such as weddings and birthday parties. A suit looks much nicer if someone is wearing cufflinks and these accessories also have a practical purpose. On a day to day basis wearing a suit isn't usually necessary, especially at weekends. Most people want to wear loose comfortable clothing such as t-shirts and tracksuit bottoms. Trainers are also popular and are much more comfortable than a pair of shoes. These accessories may be popular amongst people that are nationalistic and play rugby or football.
