New owners Steve, Lofty and Rob took over the business in January 2009 and have turned it into the running specialist for Gloucester and the surrounding areas. We also specialise in rugby and football and cater for various other sports, stocking a wide range of footwear, clothing and accessories. Gloucester Sports was the first shop in Gloucester to use video gait analysis to ensure that we put each individual in the correct footwear for their requirements. All shop staff are well-trained and highly knowledgeable about all aspects of running. Steve is the store manager and carries out the majority of the gait analysis. He has a Masters in Sport and Exercise Science and spent five years working on behalf of Nike as a biomechanics and footwear specialist. Steve is a talented runner, having won a UK Inter-Counties steeplechase title and six regional titles, together with winning several local races including the May Hill Massacre, Chedworth, Cancer Research 10km, Cranham Boundary Chase. Lofty is the resident shop coach, having recently qualified for his UK athletics Level 3 coach award. Lofty has been running for almost 20 years on the local scene and has run just about every race in the county! Pat is our full time member of staff and has been running for 8 years. He mainly races short/middle distance events, his favouirte being 800m, though he has been known to enter the odd half marathon or 10k if he feels athletic! Gary is our part time member of staff and a newcomer to the running scene.
